Our Wednesday classes are open to everyone and are suitable for beginners and those who have some experience. Geshe Kelsang Gyatso writes in Modern Buddhism:
“Kadampa practitioners emphasize training in meditation. The objects of meditation should be those that are meaningful, so that through training in meditation we can free ourselves permanently from all the sufferings of this life and our countless future lives, and we can attain the supreme happiness of enlightenment.”
In our general program we will learn to meditate on meaningful objects.

The Teacher
Gen Kelsang Dema
Gen Kelsang Dema is the resident teacher of the Kadampa Meditation Center Basel.
She is a modern Buddhist nun and a very experienced teacher of the New Kadampa Tradition who has been studying and practicing Kadampa Buddhism for 25 years under the guidance of venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche.
Because of her experience, Gen Dema’s teachings are powerful, clear and profound. It is her greatest joy to accompany others on the inner path to happiness and freedom. It is her greatest wish that everyone learns to lead themselves to their own source of joy and bliss. It’s really easy to find inner peace and always be happy.
We simply have to follow the teachings that Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche has made available to us out of his great kindness – to the people of this busy and modern world – and we will see that our lives change for the better.“
