What to expect?
The Mirror of Dharma is the most recent and inspiring of the books written by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso. In it, he presents new translation of the meaning of the text by Je Tsongkhapa, The Three Principle Aspects of the Path with a very profound and practical explanation of the meaning. In the first chapter of the book, Geshe Kelsang teaches us how to improve our Dharma practice, giving specific instructions on how to correct our faults when listening to, contemplating and meditating on Dharma. He writes:
“Regarding the Mirror of Dharma, we first need to receive the blessings of the transmission of this book. Secondly, having received the transmission blessings, we should continuously maintain faith in both the teachings and the Teachers. This is because faith in Dharma teachings and teachers is the root of Dharma realizations. Thirdly, we need to practice the actual training, which is training in contemplation – Part One of this book, and in meditation – Part Two of this book.”
In this special General Program course, open to everyone, we have the opportunity to receive the transmission blessings of this book and study it according to our venerable Spiritual Guide’s personal instructions. We will increase our wisdom and easily perfect our Dharma practice by removing obstacles to meditating deeply. By following the instructions of our Spiritual Guide, with faith, we will definitely develop and realise all of the stages of the path to enlightment.
